School System Makes Decision on Closing Restaurant

Ticonderoga County school system has decided to get out of the restaurant business, thus shutting down The Eatery, located on State Street. Even though The Eatery was a place to help teach special-education students about the food-service industry, this declaration will be saving the school system up to an unnecessary $50,000 a year. School spokesman Randall Styles said, "It's something that is not needed anymore because we can provide the same level of instruction at other facilities."(read more)

Man-eating Chow Bites Child

Gordy Jamison suffers a chomp of bad luck after receiving a ticket on Thursday. Police issued a citation after his fierce mixed-Chow bit a 6-year-old child around the ear and neck, even though there is no evidence that the dog charged toward the child first. Only minor injuries were reported. Chihuahuas, however, are now next on the watch for attacking children. (read more)

Man Dies of Heart Attack After Accident at Subway Central

John Barker, a resident of the Roaring Creek Community, died today at Memorial Hospital after suffering a heart attack. While Barker was sitting at the Subway Central restaurant, an automobile, driven by Anne Coulter, crashed through the front window. Barker was not hit by the car, but, he did receive injuries from the flying glass.(read more)

Ticonderoga County Baseball Coach is keeping his Head High
Rickey Rust, a Ticonderoga County High School baseball coach, is still thinking positive after being forced to resign after 12 years of head coach. The reason could not be due to poor coaching since the Beavers either won regular-season district titles or district tournaments. However, the baseball players were said to keep what happened off the field on the “down low.” (read more

Ten Commandments are no Longer Becoming Meaningful


Ticonderoga County must not be as religious as they let on. The debate over whether to keep the Ten Commandments mounted in the Ticonderoga County Courthouse is looking in favor of being torn down. Officials in favor lost the first round of the federal legal battle on Thursday.(read more)
